Commissions: When ordering a commissioned artwork, you will be notified of an estimated completion date before payment. Please be aware that while it is highly unlikely, the completion time of portrait(s) may exceed the estimated date. At Shaymus Art, we believe in a meticulous artistic process and strive to deliver exceptional quality without rushing the creative journey.
Original artworks: Will be processed & dispatched within 2-7 working days once payment has been received in full.
Prints: Will be processed & dispatched within 2-7 working days. This wait time may be extended up to 21 working days at the start of a print release.
Artworks & prints are packaged flat to ensure flatness of the paper. Artworks will be protected with glassine paper, placed in either an archival plastic sleeve or wrapped in acid-free tissue paper. This is then padded with either foam board and/or cardboard to ensure a safe transit. We aim to make my packaging as recyclable & eco friendly as possible while still protecting your artwork during transit.
Payments are securely made through our website’s checkout via Stripe (https://stripe.com/gb/legal/ssa) & PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/legalhub-full). Stripe processes all credit / debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay & Klarna payment options. PayPal processes all of PayPal payment options.
Commissions: Once we have selected a reference photo for the project, we will send you the 1st custom link to pay for the initial 50% cost of the portrait via our website’s checkout to begin the process. Upon completion & once you have approved of the final result, we will send you the 2nd custom link to pay for the remaining 50% cost of the portrait + the shipping cost via our website’s checkout.
All orders are shipped from the UK.
You will receive tracking info upon dispatch via the email entered at checkout. Shipping is unavailable for PO boxes, a home address & availability to sign for the package is required.
Commissions: All commissions are shipped is via UPS. UK shipping is £20, international shipping ranges from £30-£50 depending on size & location.
Originals & Prints: Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout depending on size of original artwork/print, your location & chosen delivery service.
Your mobile phone number may be required on checkout as the shipping company UPS requires it for recipients.
All items are sent to the shipping address you supply via checkout. Please make sure to double check the given delivery address before purchasing. If you notice it is incorrect, please email us ASAP (sh*****************@***il.com). If the items has already been sent with the incorrect address, we will not be able to alter it to the correct address or cancel the delivery.
Please contact us immediately (shaymu*************@***il.com) if items have arrived damaged or if you have not received it 2 weeks after the estimated delivery date.
In the unfortunate and highly unlikely case of a damaged product upon delivery, please contact us immediately (sh*****************@***il.com) to see what resolutions can be made.
First payment: If the first payment has been made and no outline sketch has been started, we will offer a full refund if you change your mind. If Shaymus Art has started / completed the outline sketch, we will offer you a refund worth the amount you paid minus £100.00 for each artwork.
Second & final payment: This is to be paid upon completion of the artwork once it’s to your satisfaction. Your completed portrait will only be shipped to you once the agreed full amount including shipping costs has been paid. If this is not paid, your portrait will not be shipped to you.
Commissioned artworks are unable to be returned or refunded due to their personalised nature.
Refund request: Customer satisfaction is very important to us. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, a full refund (not including shipping costs) will be accepted when notified within 14 days since delivery. The refund will be honoured once the item has been successfully shipped back and received in its original 100% undamaged condition within 30 days of the return request.
It is the buyers responsibility to safely re-package the product the same way it was received for a damage-free return transit. To facilitate this, it’s important that you keep all shipping materials in good condition until you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. The cost of a return shipment is at the buyer’s expense. It is also the buyers responsibility to choose a suitable delivery service that insures them for the value of the products.
Accepting delivery: Buyers are responsible for tracking their shipment via the provided tracking information sent by email & ensuring availability to accept delivery. If a product reaches its destination but is not received or becomes lost after an attempted delivery, it is the buyers responsibility to directly contact the shipping company for resolution or re-delivery. A refund (excluding shipping costs) can only be issued if the artwork/print is successfully returned to us undamaged within 30 days of the initial delivery attempt.
Lost in transit: If a product fails to reach its destination due to being lost by the shipping company, we will happily offer a full refund or replacement when notified within 90 days since dispatch. Please make sure to track your package and inform us promptly of any issues.
In the event of a package being returned to us due to an incorrect shipping address entered at checkout, we are happy to resend the artwork, with the buyer covering the cost of re-shipment.
Due to the downloadable nature of these products, all payments are final & non refundable. Cancellations, or exchanges are not permitted on digital content. If you experience issues with the download, please contact us (sh*****************@***il.com) for assistance.
We reserve the right to reject any returns or refunds that do not meet these conditions.
For purchases made from outside of the UK, any additional custom & tax fees that may occur when the package reaches your country are the responsibility of the buyer. These charges will vary depending on where you are located. We shall not be responsible for any of these fees.
We reserve the right to determine the prices for any of my art products. Product prices and shipping costs are subject to change at any time. If you have already placed your deposit for a commission, an increase or decrease in price will not effect your original quoted cost.
As a result of having different screens across devices, the colours may vary of the artwork or prints to how you view it on your own device. Replica prints that accompany commissioned artworks may have a slightly different appearance compared to the original artwork, everything possible is done to minimise this & to make the prints as similar as possible.
For pastel artworks that have a colour background, portraits come with a blank border a few millimetres thick on each side where the paper was taped to the drawing board, this also makes it possible to pick the drawing up without disturbing / touching any of the pastel at the edges. Please keep in mind that this will very slightly reduce the portrait size when coming to choose a picture mount for your frame. Professional framers should be able to factor this in.
Mounted option may be available for your portrait commission. If you select this option, expect the aperture of the mount to be slightly less than your portrait size. This is to hold the drawing firmly in place but it also means that the drawing area will be slightly covered / reduced in size.
Due to the nature of original pastel artwork, there may be slight visible blemishes on the paper – all measures are taken to reduce this as much as possible.
Actual paper sizes may be slightly larger or smaller than the chosen size on any side due to having to custom cut the paper from large sheets.
Once the final touches to your commissioned artwork are being made, you will receive a high quality photo to confirm your satisfaction. If you wish to have any details or aspects of the artwork changed, we are more than happy to do so within reason. If you require a significant change, this will incur an extra charge. Please note that we may not be able to make some significant changes once the artwork is completed due to the nature of the materials.
We currently do not offer any framing options, all artworks & prints will arrived unframed.
Commissions may be video recorded for the client if they wish to watch the process of the drawing come to life. A video recording of the process may be in the form of a 90 second or less snippet reel (portrait orientation). Reels are often posted on my social media or website.
In some cases if the commission isn’t of a personal connection, a wildlife artwork for example, we may also upload the real-time footage & reference photo to our paid subscription Patreon channel for our students to learn from.
The reel or real-time footage videos are not guaranteed in case of unforeseen complications or disruptions during the creation process. They are not included with the purchase but are rather considered as a bonus to the purchased physical commissioned drawing.
Shaymus Art retains the copyright for all commissioned artwork. Shaymus Art also retain the copyright for any prints of commissioned artworks. No commissioned artworks may be reproduced, altered or copied without Shaymus Art’s written permission. Shaymus Art will never recreate or reproduce a clients personal commission for anyone else unless given permission by the client. Shaymus Art reserves the right to share commissioned artworks for self promotional purposes.
The copyright for any of my non-commissioned artworks remain with Shaymus Art and Shaymus Art alone reserves the right to reproduce those images. Those who purchase any of my non-commissioned artwork do not have any rights to reproduce the image unless Shaymus Art also sells the copyright to them. Shaymus Art reserves the right to use their artwork for promotional purposes online and in other promotional areas.
Shaymus Art will solely retain the copyrights to any process videos and reels. Shaymus Art retains the right to solely upload, distribute and monetise these videos.
‘Crash Course’ tutorials are a series of downloadable digital video tutorials provided by Shaymus Art, along with other forms of digital tutorials.
By purchasing and downloading any digital tutorials provided by Shaymus Art, you are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access, download and use the content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Redistribution, resale, copying, or any unauthorized sharing of the content, in whole or part, is strictly prohibited.
All intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks related to the tutorials, remain the sole property of Shaymus Art.
Digital tutorials are made available through a download link upon purchase. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the download is completed and stored appropriately.
