How to Draw a Human Face | Soft Pastel Tutorial

Human faces are notoriously difficult to draw accurately, I aim to guide you in improving your portraiture & soft pastel skills to be able to draw the faces you wish to draw. I will mainly focus on how to make the portrait look realistic, in particular soft skin & detailed hair.

I will be using purely pastel pencils for this portrait. I will not be using any tools or sponges to blend out the pastel here, the pencils themselves and the layering of different colours blend just fine on their own. The full list of materials I used can be found on the Patreon tutorial post.

I also have the full real-time drawing process video there where you may skip to any part that you wish to see me draw in more detail. So, if you would like to learn how to create impactful, realistic human portraits using pastel pencils, this lesson is for you!
